Everything was amazing. Everyone working greeted me as soon as I walked in. The only thing that outclassed the vibes and service was the food. I had the passion fruit lemonade, chicken karage, Daurma, Mr. Myagi and the Panna Cotta. Everything was amazing, fresh and the flavors blossomed with each bite. Even the karate had something nuanced about it. After the first 2 bites of the rolls I ditched the soy sauce and wasabi and just ate them as served. Also the receipt in the manga was the perfect final touch. Definitely will comeback next time I'm in town.

UPDATE: They refunded the charge! What should’ve been a five-star review was tanked by the fact that they forced a birthday dessert on us that we didn’t order and then charged us for it. They also never refilled our waters. We ordered salmon crispy rice, tuna tataki, shochu sunset cocktail, premium junmai ginjo cold sake, spicy tuna roll, and the oyabun roll. While trying to finish our drinks, they brought us a blueberry pana cotta. The pana cotta ended up being good but we never ordered it, specifically said we were full, and then got charged for it. The receipt even said birthday on it but didn’t discount the dessert. I’m not going back if they’re going to do these sneaky things. I’m very disappointed.

Found my new favorite sushi place in San Diego. The food was made to perfection, our server Karan was attentive and gave excellent customer service. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, and the vibe here is great! I will absolutely be a regular. It is a popular place so expect a bit of a wait, or try to arrive early when they first open.

When we walked into the restaurant, they seated us at the bar, but the bar was quite high and the stools were really low, which felt uncomfortable. I ordered ceviche, and it came out surprisingly sweet—I was expecting that usual sour, limey flavor, but it just wasn’t there and I really didn’t like it. The sushi had truffle oil, but I could barely taste any truffle at all. Besides that, we ordered chicken katsu, and it was honestly quite bad as well. I have no idea how this place has a 4.9 rating. It’s a newly opened restaurant, it looks chic inside, but taste-wise it really didn’t pass my standards. Plus, I ordered a salad and it came super late. On top of that, there was only one waiter working, and when I asked for water, it took forever to arrive. I was practically choking on what I ate. I also tried the beef skewers, and they were undercooked and had this red marinade that just didn’t appeal to me. I was quite disappointed because the reviews looked good, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it beyond an average place.
