I have to tell you, not impressed at all with California Coast Credit Union! I went into Cal Coast today because unfortunately, I needed actual printouts of my checking account for court tomorrow.Being a member of California coast for 16 years, I was told "$3 a statement". I explain the teller that I was in Financial straights and that is the main reason why I am going to court tomorrow. After pleading my case with the bank teller who then relayed the message to the manager. His decision was he would wait 3 months of statements . But I would need to pay for the remaining nine if I wanted the full year of statements . What you're saying is you want me to pay $27 for 9 months of statements which are only a page or two long in black and white? If I have the capabilities to do it myself or if I had $27 to spend on 12 pieces of paper I would have downloaded it and printed it from anywhere else! What a crock of suckiness from you Cal Coast. Thank you Mr manager you're above and beyond customer service really shines today. Good luck with your life.

Pretty sketchy credit union. They sued to try to force SD County Credit Union to proceed in merging with them, but SD County Credit Union found significant compliance and governance deficiencies during the integration process. CCCU eventually settled, abandoning the merger. The CEO was described as "dictatorial."

If you’re looking for a credit union with poor customer service, socially inept managers, and strict implementation of policies for policies’ sake, this is your lucky day. Don’t get me wrong. There are at least two tellers who are super nice. Sadly, however, they have to apologetically parrot policies that genuinely don’t make any sense. And when you ask the assistant manager to explain a policy that doesn’t jive with any rational mind on the planet, you quickly discover he has no experience or training interacting with human beings. This happened to me. He talked down to me as if I was 8 years old, and not in a way that yielded clear communication a child would understand, but in a way that revealed condescension, hostility, and social anxiety. When I later spoke to one of the tellers about the same policy, she was so nice and apologetic that it almost made up for the assistant manager’s behavior. Almost. But at least I had a remote chance of understanding where the credit union might be coming from even if I still vehemently disagreed with the policy. That chance was dashed when the branch manager himself ignored my polite follow-up communication to him. And speaking of policies, if you don’t have an account with this credit union, don’t bother trying to buy quarters for laundry because they won’t let you. You know, policy—and not the same policy I was discussing with the assistant manager and teller earlier. (Did I mention this was about policy?) Apparently, they don’t think you’re worth the paper used for quarter rolls unless you have an account. Or maybe they think you’re using counterfeit bills. Seriously, I’ve never been to a credit union or bank that refused to sell me quarters. Maybe times are changing. Or maybe this credit union is uniquely irrational. Either way, having mindless policies is bad enough. But explaining those policies without even pretending to care about customers or potential customers is a mistake, both socially and professionally.

This place is so slow and the teller is horrible with bad attitude. She’s out talking with the manager and is taking her so long. She’s mad coz I asked if she can release some of my money for holding it. It’s been 10 minutes. This lady is so annoying and horrible. Please nobody go to hill rest branch….
